    Alyssa received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Foods – Dietetics at Appalachian State University. She currently works for the Surry County Health & Nutrition Center WIC Program as a Nutritionist. After completion of UNCG’s MS/DI program, Alyssa hopes to become a Registered Dietitian and specialize in an area of dietetics that she is highly interested in, such as community, oncology, or pediatric nutrition.

    Ashlyn received her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in 2021, where she earned a BA in Psychology, with minors in Neuroscience and Women’s Gender and Sexualities Studies. She is currently a Nutrition PhD student working with Dr. Fordahl and is also completing the DPD requirements to become a registered dietitian. For the last few years, she has worked in preclinical neuroscience research labs and is excited to study the intersection between nutrition and neuroscience here at UNCG.

    Brandon received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health and recently completed his dietetic internship at East Carolina University. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist and currently works as a Social Clinical Research Specialist at East Carolina University and develops/evaluates community-based nutrition programming for uninsured patients. His research interests include examining different nutrition/culinary education strategies aimed at improving food literacy and how these approaches can impact nutrition-related behaviors, health outcomes, and healthcare utilization.

    Brief Bio

    Savanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Human Dietetics from UNCG. She is continuing her studies at UNCG in the MS/DI program, to become a registered dietitian. Her specific dietetic interests include GI, pediatric, and sports nutrition. She is excited to work in a variety of settings during her internship.

    Selena received her Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She is enrolled in the M.S./DI program at UNCG and is expected to graduate in May 2026. Under the supervision of Dr. Dharod, she has been investigating the relationship between low-income mothers and breastfeeding patterns throughout the first six weeks of pregnancy. Her areas of interest include sports nutrition and clinical dietetics.

    Dayana earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Human Dietetics from UNCG and is continuing her education in the MS/DI program to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. She is passionate about sports nutrition, holistic health, and international nutrition, and is excited to apply her knowledge in settings that promote wellness across cultures and communities.

    Kiera is a High Point, NC native who received her Bachelor of Science from William Peace University in Raleigh, NC. At WPU she was inducted into the Tri-Beta Biological Society and served as the Student Body President. After graduation, she worked as a Research Technician at UNC Chapel Hill Center for AIDS/HIV research. During her time at UNC Chapel Hill, Kiera was able to hone-in on her passion and decided to continue her education within the Nutrition program at UNC Greensboro. She is very excited to pursue this degree and become a registered dietician.

    Zakkiyya completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is attending the Masters and Dietetic Internship program to become a Registered Dietitian. Her interests include but are not limited to culinary medicine and clinical dietetics. She looks forward to collaborating with her peers and contributing to the nutrition department.
