    Brief Bio

    Lora received her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from UNCG in 2021 and completed her Dietetic Internship program at UNCG in May of 2022. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and is pursuing her Master of Science in Nutrition while completing an independent study surrounding eating disorders.

    Brief Bio

    Kristen received her Bachelor of Science from Bridgewater College and is pursuing her master’s degree at UNCG while completing the DPD requirements to become a registered dietitian. She will be completing research for the FeeN study with Dr. Dharod which is focused on breastfeeding and food insecurity in Greensboro’s low-income population. Previously, Kristen worked at the Greensboro WIC office for 2 years as a nutritionist where she provided nutrition education to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children ages 1-5 years old.

    brief bio

    Shania is from Prince George’s County, Maryland and received her Bachelors in Exercise Science: Fitness and Wellness from Shaw University, where she also joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is pursuing her Master’s in nutrition at UNCG. Shania will be working with Dr. Dharod on the FeeN study conducting research focused on food insecurity and breastfeeding in Greensboro’s low-income population. She hopes to obtain her RD license following graduation and work in areas that interest her like sports nutrition, functional health, and/ or eating disorder treatment.

    Michael Miller is a dedicated student in the MS/DI program at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, aspiring to become a registered dietitian with a focus on supporting individuals with pulmonary diseases and athletes striving to achieve professional success. With practical experience in dietary management and a strong academic foundation, Michael excels in overseeing food service operations to ensure top-quality care, safety, and resident satisfaction. Passionate about promoting health and well-being through nutrition, Michael’s future goals reflect a commitment to making a positive impact in specialized areas of nutrition care.

    Brief Bio

    Kennedy completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at East Carolina University. During her time at ECU, Kennedy conducted research with a SNAP-Ed funded program called MATCH under Dr. Lazorick. She also worked as an infant nutrition technician at Vidant Medical Center for two years and served as the president of the Dean’s Student Leadership Council. Kennedy is a dietetic intern here at UNCG and has strong interests in clinical dietetics.

    Kathryn, having previously earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at UNC Greensboro, continues her academic journey as an enthusiastic and dedicated student in the MS-DI Nutrition Program. Her strong passion for holistic health and helping others drives her commitment to promoting wellness. With a keen interest in the interconnectedness of nutrition and overall well-being, she envisions becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, aiming to empower individuals to achieve their health goals. Kathryn actively seeks opportunities for additional learning in nutrition and plans to integrate her interests in sustainability and health by conducting hands-on cooking demonstrations in her future career.

    Kara Angèle Pressley received her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and her Master of Arts from New York University. She will graduate with her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from New York University May 2023. She is interested in providing culturally affirming and inclusive care as a future registered dietitian. She is passionate about nutrition education and counseling in both clinical and community settings.

    Brief Bio

    Isa has been working alongside Dr. Dharod since 2019 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the FeeN Nutrition Study. She has presented research findings in the 2020 Virtual North Carolina Academy of Nutrition (NCAND) Regional Meeting. She has also been fortunate to showcase to Congress in the 2021 Virtual Posters on the Hill event. Her research experience and community work have allowed her to be awarded Outstanding Dietetics Student by the North Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NCAND). Isa hopes to work with the Latinx community as a future RD and provide culturally inclusive nutrition advice. She will strive to utilize her skills to minimize nutrition gaps and diet-related disparities. In her free time, she enjoys lifting weights and cooking Mexican dishes with her family.

    Brief Bio

    During her time as a master’s nutrition student at UNCG, Nichole has had experience working as a teaching assistant and has primarily served as a graduate research assistant on the Infant Feeding and Nutrition Study, which focuses on food insecurity and infant feeding practices.  Nichole plans to become a dietetic intern at UNCG and her long-term goal is  to serve as a Registered Dietitian within the community or research sectors, with a focus on chronic disease prevention.

    Victoria is from Kernersville, North Carolina and received her Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University. She is now a dietetic intern at UNCG dedicated to learning and gaining experience. Her interests within nutrition include community nutrition, public policy and pediatric nutrition.
